I chose this as my item for my first journal. What I did first was create a shape and i tried to do something weird and not something you see but it ended up looking like a whale. I drew the shape and then cut a piece of cardboard out. I then used the x acto knife to cut out my shape. When I cut out my shape I used gesso to cover it. At last I am still in the process of painting my shape.
My second journal reflection is about my shape that I designed and painted. I first drew a lot of different shapes and choose the one that I liked the best. I cut out a piece of cardboard and drew the shape on. I then cut it out and added gesso. I then painted it with the color red, orange, yellow, and white. The class got together and put all the shapes together. We had another class choose our final project and we chose theirs.

This is my third journal reflection. I am doing this about my project. I made my own canvas with help of Mrs. Singleton. My painting is sort of a dark space theme. I came up with this idea by watching a movie. I started off by painting it with a darkish purple. I then started to paint the green part and now I have to finish the rest of it.
'tArtist Statement: The thing that inspired me to do this artwork is a movie that I one saw on Netflix and I thought it looked cool. I don't really think I have a motivation to make art I just realized that I like experimenting different stuff and I am starting to like art class. The things that I used to make the art work was I created my own canvas and used gesso to cover it. I covered the canvas with darkish purple paint and then the bottom with green paint. I then painted the UFO and then then the person. I don´t really find meaning to this artwork. I just found a movie and watched it and it was about space and things so that is why I decided to do it.
Artist Statement: The inspiration for this artwork was soccer. At the time I was playing with JV and I knew I was better than that. On our second game coach put me in and I showed him what I got and since then I have been starter. I feel like this has two meanings for me. One is what I just explained and the other one is that sometimes you need some alone time and not always being with friends. The items I used to do this were paper and colored pencils.
Artist Statement: The inspiration for this artwork is what has been going on in the news a while back. This also comes from Mexico. I usually go every year to visit family. I sometimes feel bad because I see a lot of people without money but can't go somewhere else to afford money so they have to leave their families behind. Leaving families behind is bad because there is a lot of risks to it. I used Pixlr to do this artwork. I learned on how to use it and cut things out.
